Personal Counselling for Children, Teenagers and Adults

Counselling provides individuals with the opportunity to work through personal and professional issues in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.

Counselling can assist us in decision making, problem solving and dealing with emotions associated with loss and other painful experiences.

Counselling also allows us to address any unresolved issues from the past that may be impacting on our functioning and relationships in the present. Confronting issues from the past allows us to put past hurts behind us and move forward.

Our therapists are trained and experienced in a range of techniques, including:

  •  Sandplay therapy and symbol work
  •  Psychotherapy
  •  Be Set Free Fast
  •  Cognitive behavioural therapy
  •  Solution focused therapy

Having accumulated experience over many years through working with diverse client groups of all ages, we are able to work effectively with a range of issues, including:

  •  Self esteem
  •  Anxiety
  •  Depression
  •  Trauma
  •  Recovery from Abuse
  •  Working through grief
  •  Problem solving
  •  Finding direction

ICCS is now offering a low-cost counselling service that is staffed by interns. Interns are newly graduated counsellors, registered with ACA, seeking to gain greater experience in counselling practice by participating in a low-cost clinic. All interns are carefully supervised by experienced Clinical Counsellors.

Cheryl Taylor, the senior counsellor at ICCS is skilled in working with children, teenagers and adults using a variety of techniques and is committed to empowering her clients to move forward with awareness and renewed confidence. You can contact Cheryl directly on 0421 281 050.

Our counseling services are offered in Flinders Lane (near Southern Cross Station), Caroline Springs and Port Melbourne. Day, evening and weekend appointments are available. Counselling appointments for any of our venues can be made by calling our Head Office in Flinders Lane, on 8610 0400. All of our counsellors are registered with Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

In the words of an appreciative client:

“Counselling is about getting to know who you are, why you behave the way you do, what makes you tick, and the end result is a familiarity you may never have had if not for counselling.

Being the client, all you ever really want is reassurance and someone to rationalise and understand you. That's what counselling meant to me when I was so confused. Knowing that it was normal, and I wasn't going mad. I was finally understood and someone took the time and educated me about me.“
